Jennifer Nocito

After an International Competitive career as an Ice dancer (skating), Jennifer Nocito pursued a career in the health and beauty industry. Jennifer graduated from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 1996 practicing alongside Toronto Chiropractors as a Registered Massage Therapist. With an extensive background, she feels very fortunate to be able to continue my focus on helping people feel better both inside and out. Jennifer’s career expanded after moving to Collingwood in 2000 when returning to school taking continuous courses in the Esthetic industry. She fell in love with learning and giving Healthy Body Treatments, Professional Facials, Specialty Massages and Natural Manicures and Pedicures. It is important to provide clientele with professional, up to date services and individual attention so each and everyone will feel special, comfortable and come to relax and rejuvenate.

Jennifer began teaching after graduating as a Yoga Exercise Specialist in February 2010 and a Pilates Instructor shortly after that. Believing in the importance of continuous education to expand her knowledge and technique to share with her students. Her goal with Yoga First and Wellness is to offer and create an environment that allows students to focus on themselves, feeling stronger mentally and physically, and to develop self confidence. Jennifer’s  Hatha/Vinyasa style and Pilates classes are open to everyone. Spending over an hour together practicing  Asanas (postures) and Pranayamas (breath) and Specific Core Exercises in a positive, energized environment free of schedules, demands, deadlines and stress.

Jennifer has personally been practicing Yoga and Pilates for over 15 years. Her background includes skating internationally as an ice dancer for both Canada and the U.S.A. and training competitive skating students as an NCCP Level 3 coach.

Finding Yoga and Pilates helped bring balance into Jennifer’s life. By becoming an instructor, she really wanted to share the incredible journey of healing and self love. She tries to make her classes challenging bringing something new to awaken the body and mind. Students are reminded that it’s very important to listen to one’s body, not focus on the person beside you and to push oneself to a healthy place. Proper technique is emphasized with several variations in order to prevent and heal injuries to enjoy a life long practice.

Taking time at the end in Shavasana (relaxation pose) is a very important aspect of class. This allows the student to completely calm the mind in a peaceful environment. Taking about 10 to 15 minutes to centre yourself focusing on breath and positive feelings. A form of meditation.

It’s important to Jennifer that clients feel completely comfortable to talk, call or email her with any questions, comments and or suggestions they may have.

Creating Yoga First and Wellness and working with people in groups and privately, brings Jennifer much happiness.
